Nominations are now open for the 2016 Bill Pasternak Young Ham of the Year Award, of which CQ magazine is a co-sponsor. The award is given annually to a licensed amateur age 19 or younger from the U.S., Canada, or Puerto Rico who has used ham radio for public service, benefiting his or her community; or who has impacted technological development affecting communications in some way. Nominees should be leaders among a new generation of hams; simply being licensed at a young age is not a sufficient qualification for the award. Nominating deadline is June 30.
Additional information and nominating forms are online at www.arnewsline.org (click on the YHOTY tab). Completed nominations and supporting documents should be mailed to Young Ham of the Year Award, c/o Amateur Radio Newsline, Inc., Editorial Office, P.O. Box 451, Huntington Station, NY 11746.
