The Amateur Radio on the International Space
Station program celebrated a milestone in March as Astronaut Tim Kopra, KE5UDN,
made the one-thousandth ARISS school contact with a group at the University of
North Dakota comprised of students ranging from kindergarten through graduate
school. The March 10 linkup was the first ARISS QSO with North Dakota since the
program began back in 2000, according to the AMSAT News Service. NASA's ISS
Program Office has produced several videos to mark the event, including
"ARISS: 1,000 Calls and Counting," available online at <http://bit.ly/1Vqq0le>.
