Ham to Be Honored With Lifetime Achievement Emmy Award


Robert Ross, N2OML, will be honored next spring by the National Academy of Television Arts and
Sciences with a lifetime achievement Technology and Engineering Emmy Award. Ross recently retired as Senior Vice President of East Coast Operations for CBS.

In his nearly ten years in that position, according to Studio Daily, Ross oversaw the conversion of the CBS Broadcast Center to high definition, installation of a new emergency power generator for the facility, rebuilds of the network’s Media Distribution Center and Satellite Distribution Systems, conversion from videotape to digital distribution for programs, restoration of the Ed Sullivan Theater for “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” and much more. He is also a member of the Broadcasting and Cable Hall of Fame.
 
Ross will share the stage at the April 8 ceremony at the National Association of Broadcasters convention with Richard Friedel, Fox’s Engineering and Operations Executive Vice President and General Manager, who is also receiving a lifetime achievement Emmy Award.
