OSCAR-100 Open for General Use - and You Can Listen In

Qatar OSCAR-100,
the first geostationary amateur radio satellite, is in full operation with
multimode capabilities including single sideband, CW, FreeDV, RTTY and digital
amateur television. Its orbit over the Indian Ocean makes it available 24 hours
a day to hams in Africa, Asia and parts of Europe.
Hams outside the satellite's "footprint" or who don't have equipment
to monitor its 10-GHz downlink frequencies (uplink is on 2.4 GHz) may listen in
through a software defined radio connected to the internet. The WebSDR is
operated by the British Amateur Television Club and may be accessed at
