Astronaut Chris Cassidy,
KF5KDR, has been named chief of NASA's Astronaut Office, according to the ARRL Letter. A U.S. Navy Captain and
former Navy SEAL, Cassidyspent six
months in space on the International Space Station in 2013 and took part in six
spacewalks. He also conducted several Amateur Radio on the International Space
Station contacts while in orbit. He replaces Air Force Colonel Robert Behnken,
who is also a ham, holding call sign KE5GGX.
