FCC Gives Hams Partial Reprieve on 9-Centimeter Band

The FCC will allow continued amateur operation of the 3.3-3.45 GHz portion of the 9-centimeter band until it takes final action in the future on reallocating the band for 5G wireless services. This is 50 MHz more than its original determination, according to the ARRL Letter

Amateur operation on 3.45-3.50 GHz still must cease within 90 days after public notice that the auction for that portion of the spectrum has ended and that licensing has begun. All amateur use of the 9-centimeter band remains secondary to other primary users.
