The International Amateur Radio Union, or IARU, is the new owner of the "hamradio.org" internet domain. The union, which is composed of national amateur radio organizations from around the world, was given ownership of the domain by its previous owner, Andrew Wolfram, KI7RYC, "for non-profit educational use to promote the amateur and amateur satellite services," according to the ARRL Letter.
IARU President Tim Ellam, VE6SH, says plans are being made to develop a website "that can serve as a focal point for anyone, anywhere, who may be seeking information on amateur radio…" No timetable has been announced for putting such a site online.
