The 2017 Dayton Hamvention® will be held at the Greene County Fair- grounds and Exposition Center in nearby Xenia, Ohio, county and Hamvention officials announced August 1, less than a week after Hara Arena – Hamvention's home since the 1960s, announced that it would be closing. Xenia is roughly 20 miles east of Dayton.
According to the Dayton Daily News, the Hamvention generates some $17 million in economic activity for the region.
