Ham Scoutmaster Murdered on Hike


A 76-year-old Scoutmaster and ham radio operator was killed in August while leading a nature hike outside of Kokomo, Indiana. Police say Arthur Anderson (W9WPH) was leading two scouts on a hike when he was attacked from behind without provocation and stabbed to death. Twenty-two year-old Shane Golitko has been charged in the murder. According to the ARRL Letter, Anderson was Assistant Scoutmaster of Troop 506 in Kokomo and had been a scouting volunteer for 50 years.
