Overall, Belarus
won more than two-thirds of the medals awarded in the annual competition
sponsored by the International Amateur Radio Union. There were 90 participants
from 19 countries, competing in groups broken down by gender and age. The 2020
even will take place in Mongolia.

Two World Records Set at High Speed CW Competition
How good is your
code copying? Can you top 195 words per minute? That's the speed at which
both the male and female winners of the 2019 IARU High Speed Telegraphy World
Championship were able to copy, both setting new world records in the process. According
to the ARRL Letter, Stanislau Haurylenka, EW8GS, from Belarus, finished
with a total score of 291,597 points, eclipsing the previous record of 288,671.
Among the women, Teodora Karastoyanova, LZ2CWW, of host country Bulgaria scored
293,877 points in the competition, breaking her own world record of 286,944 set
earlier this year in the Romanian Championships.'
