Ham radio operators played a
major role in an ultimately successful search July 29 for a 13-year old Pennsylvania
boy with autism. More than two dozen hams were among the many professional and
volunteer searchers, according to the
ARRL Letter, serving as team
leaders and providing "solid communication" among searchers. After
about six hours, the young man was found safe and reunited with his family in
Sinking Spring, Pennsylvania, about halfway between Philadelphia and Harrisburg.
