Station (storytimefromspace.com screen grab)
A book for young people about ham radio was featured recently on the "Story Time From Space" program, accompanied by a short tour of the ham station aboard the International Space Station. The book is Ada Lace, Take Me to Your Leader, by Emily Calandrelli, KD8PKR, and it was read aloud in three parts by Astronaut Anne McClain. During the second segment, McClain supplements the reading with a brief tour of the amateur station in the Columbus module and a discussion of how ISS crew members use amateur radio to talk with students and with other hams back here on Earth.

Story Time From Space is a collaborative effort between NASA and the Global Space Education Foundation. It features astronauts reading books aloud from the ISS as a means of generating interest among young people in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) careers. The first part of the Ada Lace story is available online at <https://storytimefromspace.com/ada-lace-part-1/>. There are links available at the end for Parts 2 and 3.
