The Hurricane Watch Net went on the air today (Sept. 30) at 11:00 AM EDT, as Hurricane Joaquin set its sights on the Bahamas and ultimately - perhaps - the U.S. east coast. According to Hurricane Watch Net Manager Bobby Graves, KB5HAV, "Joaquin
is expected to make a very sharp turn to the north-northeast sometime
Thursday.  This is due in part to a frontal system moving towards the
Bahamas.  The timing of this system will dictate the timing of this
turn. Due
to the close proximity to land, whether or not this storm makes
landfall in the Bahamas, the Hurricane Watch Net will be active until no
longer a threat in this region."
