DeYoung had held the post for less than a year, according to CQ Editor Rich Moseson, W2VU, who also announced the appointment of Jim Houser, WA8JIM, of Bartlett, Illinois, as the new Awards Editor. Houser's first column will appear in the May 2020 issue.

"Eddie had let us know in late January that he would be unable to continue," Moseson explained, "so we were already looking for a successor and were about to announce WA8JIM's appointment when we learned of Eddie's passing. We extend our condolences to Eddie's wife and family."

Jim Houser has been licensed since 1998 and has held an Extra Class license since 1999. His main interests are award-hunting, county-hunting, state QSO parties, rag-chewing, homebrewing, collecting QSL cards and attending the Dayton Hamvention.® Professionally, Jim is the lead radio technician for Amtrak's Chicago Radio Department.
