Hams in Thailand Celebrate New King with Special Event Station

The Radio Amateur Society of Thailand (RAST) operated special event station HS10KING in early May, commemorating the coronation of King Rama X (full name King Vajiralongkorn Bodindradebayavarankun). 

According to the AMSAT News Service, the station operated maritime mobile from on board a Thai Navy aircraft carrier in the Gulf of Thailand, using the 80-, 40-, 20-, 15- and 10-meter bands on HF as well as 2 meters and the newly-activated geostationary amateur satellite, QO-100.
