Milestones: Several Prominent Amateurs Become Silent Keys
The amateur radio
community has lost several prominent members in recent months, including Don
Tyrrell, W8AD, of Alpha Delta; British QRP enthusiast Rev. George Dobbs, G3RJV,
who was founder and secretary of the G-QRP Club and editor of its magazine, SPRAT; Indian amateur R. Jayaraman,
VU2JN, an engineering professor and Director of Technical Education for the
state of Kerala, and first recipient of the lifetime achievement award from the
Amateur Radio Society of India; former Young Ladies Radio League president
Carol Hall, WD8DQG; and former National Traffic System Eastern Area staff chair
Bill Thompson, W2MTA.
