It is with great sadness that we share the news that former CQ Advertising Manager Arnold "Arnie" Sposato, N2IQO, passed away on Monday, August 13, after a brief illness. He was 72.
Arnie joined the CQ
staff in 1983 and at various times until his retirement in 2010,
represented nearly all of CQ's hobby radio publications at one time or
another, including CQ, CQ VHF, CQ Contest, Communications Quarterly and Popular Communications.
Many
of the current CQ staff had the privilege of working with Arnie for
over 27 years. What always stood out to us was his sense of humor and
the close relationships he had developed with people throughout the
amateur radio industry. Everybody loved Arnie. And we will all miss him.
Born
and raised in Huntington, New York, Arnie lived there until his
retirement, when he and his wife, Marie, moved to Gig Harbor,
Washington. After several years in the Pacific Northwest, they moved
back east, settling in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. Arnie is survived by
Marie, three children and several grandchildren.
