Three well-known amateurs have been honored with YASME Foundation Excellence Awards this year, while separate grants were awarded for scholarships and youth contesting efforts.

Also honored were Tim Duffy, K3LR, for his development of the Contest University program, and Tom Rauch, W8JI, for his "many contributions to the technical advancement of the Amateur Service."
In addition, grants were made to the ARRL
Foundation and the Foundation for Amateur Radio for scholarships, and an
additional grant went directly to help cover the expenses of two young hams
from Ethiopia who took part in the IARU Region I Youth Contesting Program in
Estonia.
