FCC Proposes $8k Fine Against Ohio Ham
The
FCC says a Cincinnati amateur should pay an $8000 fine for allegedly causing
malicious interference on a number of repeaters and failure to properly
identify his station.
The ARRL Letter reports that the FCC's Notice of
Apparent Liability says Daniel Hicks, KB8UYZ, at one point volunteered to help
track down the source of the repeater interference, even though, according to
the Commission, he was the one responsible for it. The FCC also alleged that
Hicks used the call sign of a different local station in the course of his interfering
transmissions.
